Portland Winterhawks at the World Juniors

Today was the best match-up for a Portland Winterhawks fan, as all three Hawks involved in the World Junior hockey tournament were participating in the Canada vs. Switzerland quarterfinal game. Ryan Johansen, fourth overall pick in last year's draft, played awesome for Canada and was named player of the game for his team as his team prevailed 4-1. While I'm sure Nino Niederreiter, fifth overall pick in last year's draft, and Sven Bartschi, rated as a potential first round pick for the upcoming draft, are disappointed with Team Switzerland's result in the tournament (they will finish either 5th or 6th), they both looked strong and generated some of the best offense for the Swiss. I thought I would post a few photos for all the Hawks fans back on the west coast.

Frustration got the better of them, and both Niederreiter and Bartschi ended the game in the penalty box
