Wildflowers of the North

I've been down for the count for a few days with an annoying summer cold, so I haven't felt like getting out with the camera for a couple of days. Instead, I've had time to go through some of my other pictures more carefully - in particular, I spent some time with the field guide identifying some of more of the wildflowers that I saw on my trip to Alaska. It's hard to believe that trip already ended six weeks ago!

Here are a few of the species I was able to identify that never made it into any of my other blog posts about the trip....

Showy Jacob's ladder (Polemonium pulcherrimum):


Heart-leaved arnica (Arnica cordifolia):


Bog rosemary (Andromeda polifolia):


Yellow marsh saxifrage (Saxifraga hirculus):


Wild geranium (Geranium erianthum):


Pink-flowered wintergreen (Pyrola asarifolia):
