Monika: omigosh, what a great blog, and superb photos! My name is Carol, and I live on Oak Island, on the southeastern coast of North Carolina. I actually live on the marsh, my dock goes out to Davis Canal, a tidal canal which is a favorite to all the shore birds...in summer the white ibis roost in the live oaks on the shore across from me. A friend and I are planning a trip May 9-June 20 , are renting a house on Orcas. I am a nurse anesthetist/clinical hypnotherapist; but in the past have worked with dolphins in Miami. Cetaceans are so fascinating to me; and I can't wait to be in your area. Have read a lot about the whale watchers/protectors in the PNW; and my experience with humpbacks both in the Caribbean and in New Brunswick, Canada were spine-chilling to say the least; such grand beauty, such intelligence...There is a gal, Jill, who blogs about your area, also..http://pacificnwseasons.blogspot.com/... and a great whale blog from Fundy Bay area: http://fundywhale.blogspot.com/---Danielle is the biologist at Quoddy Head, and a superb photographer; Art MacKay runs the Fundy Whale blog , and it would be interesting to you, I think...
Would love to "talk" with you; and will check your blog regularly. What an enjoyable evening you have gifted me with.. Thanks, Carol
